Sweet Almond Oil for Hair

Sweet almond oil could almost have been made by nature specifically as a natural skin care product. However, before we discuss this oil in particular, why should you use natural products to care for your skin? What is wrong with the thousands of commercial products out there on the pharmacy and supermarket shelves?

A facial massage can be a great way to unwind at the end of a long day. Almond oil is one of the best oils to use for a facial massage. By doing the massage right before bed you allow your skin to get a maximum benefit from the oil. You can lessen the appearance of wrinkles, dry skin, impurities, and dead cells. You can easily remove black heads, nourish and moisturize your skin. Enjoy a bedtime massage and experience the difference in the morning.

Almond oil is another example of a natural substance that has been in use for thousands of years. It is a time honored natural food and herb remedy that has conferred its benefits on users by providing lots of nutrients and vitamins, thus enhancing the health of the hair, skin and scalp. It also protects the hair strand and strengthens the root providing thick, long and shiny tresses. It was used in ancient Egypt where it was known for promoting hair grow and was useful in preventing premature baldness.

Almonds are naturally high in vitamin E, which makes them ideal as hair care and skin care products. The resulting oil is smooth and silky, with a faint, pleasing fragrance. Whether you use it as a massage oil, a natural moisturizer, or a way to keep your scalp and hair healthy and strong, using sweet almond oil on your skin and hair is a wonderful, affordable way to look your best.

Almond oil, or Sweet Almond Oil is a great carrier oil to work with any skin type. This oil can be applied directly to the skin and can help with inflammation to soothe sore, achy muscles and joints, as well relieving itching from bug bites, and pain from bee stings. In addition to these great properties, Almond Oil can be easily used in Soap-making and cosmetic making products, such as lotions, homemade soaps, and conditioners.

Instead, massage therapists who use essential oils use a carrier oil or a base oil and add a small amount of essential oil to the carrier oil. They can do that because one drop of an essential oil is very powerful, and can go a long way. You can experiment, but I have found 1 or 2 drops of essential per teaspoon (5 ml) of carrier oil is usually sufficient. Be sure to read up on whatever oil you are thinking of using, because there are a few that really should not be put on the skin at all.

When using the oil for your hair, remember to start by mixing castor oil with other oils. This is necessary to avoid the ultra-thick consistency of castor oil, which might be difficult to rinse off from your hair. The oil can be mixed with sweet almond oil or grape seed oil to produce lighter oil that is easier to apply on your hair and smells better than the unpleasant natural scent of the oil.

The process is simply since they just mix the castor oil with sweet almond oil to improve the aroma. Massaging the scalp was also famous for them, they would normally do scalp massage along with the preparation of Fir Tree extracts by which they get the resin and then massage it to the affected are. Sometimes, Egyptians would use wigs and hair extension they get from sheep's wool to cover the balding and because of the belief that hair will grow on their own.

The skin is designed to be selectively absorbent, being relatively permeable to fat soluble substances and relatively impermeable to water and water soluble substances. Fat soluble ingredients such as oils are absorbed more effectively and have greater effect on the cell membrane and skin matrix, supporting skin nourishment. As carriers, oils can also transport essential oils, phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals into the skin where they are most effective, rather than just having a "surface" effect.
